5 Ways a Travel Advisor Adds Value to Your Vacation

Updated: Sep 7, 2020

When I tell people that I am a travel advisor, I am often asked “people still use travel agents?” I laugh a little and simply respond that the travel agency industry is very strong and just as relevant today as it was several decades ago.

You see, despite the onset of online travel agents (OTA) such as Expedia, Travelocity, etc., people want real human interaction. They want someone to handle the work for them. They simply are not going to get that with an OTA. Most people don’t even realize that when they use an OTA they are still paying commissions and hidden fees. So why not keep that commission with a local business and an agent who you know? Here are five ways I can add value to your vacation as your travel advisor.

5 Ways a Travel Advisor Adds Value to Your Vacation:

  1. Personal Touch – I will spend time getting to know your likes, dislikes, vacation style, and more so I can design an experience that is perfect for you.

  2. Reduce Stress – I will help you manage the details you may not even know need to be managed and advise you on what items are needed for your trip. Think passports, insurance, visas and much more!

  3. Expert Knowledge – I can provide the most up-to-the minute information not available online by utilizing my knowledge, connections and personal experience. Even if I don’t know the answer, I work with a great team of advisors who do. We all travel frequently and go through a lot of training to stay current for our clients.

  4. Personal Advocate – I am there for you from start to finish. If something goes wrong while traveling, I am there to plead your case and help make things right. Ask yourself if you would rather spend several hours on the phone trying to fix an issue or would you rather have someone do that for you?

  5. Extra Mile – When planning your trip, I will treat it as it was my own, if not better. I can help you book activities, spa treatments, private dinner reservations, and more.

If you are looking for a travel advisor to take care of your next vacation, contact me. I would love to work with you in planning the ultimate getaway. At Magnolia Travel Group, we say, “You’ll love where we take you!”
