My family and I recently returned from a weekend get-away in Natchez, Mississippi. Since this trip was a birthday celebration for both my mother and my mother-in-law, we did not want to stay at a traditional hotel. So we opted for a bed and breakfast. As I searched Natchez for its B&B offerings, I came across the Guest House Mansion (https://guesthouseinnatchez.com/), which had a lot of positive reviews.

We were greeted at check-in with hospitality from the manager who lives on-property. She told us a little bit about the property, showed us the complimentary fresh baked cookies and coffee station, and even offered us a map and any information we might need about the city.

We stayed in the Davis and Revel rooms. The rooms were larger than what you typically find at a bed and breakfast . Each of our rooms had two double beds, seating area and a nice bathroom. The rooms, and the house itself, were very well maintained and clean.

There are a couple of sitting areas throughout the house where you can visit. In fact, we used one of those areas near our rooms each night for playing games. Overall, the house was very quiet, and, other than seeing a few guests in passing, we often did not realize anyone else was staying there.

Part of your stay is a complimentary southern-style breakfast in their dining room, which at night is a Mediterranean Restaurant. A gentleman by the name of Mr. Henry is the lone server working the dining room during breakfast. He shows off true southern hospitality with his morning greeting and eagerness to make sure you are a satisfied guest. He was a delight to talk to and made our breakfast enjoyable each morning. The food did not disappoint. Whoever was in the kitchen cooking breakfast knew how to properly cook grits, bacon, sausage, biscuits, eggs and more that were among the choices available for breakfast.

So, if you are looking for a charming bed and breakfast with genuine southern hospitality rather than a standard hotel room, consider staying at the Guest House.
