General Questions
What does Trey Tracy Travel do?
Trey Tracy Travel provides professional, concierge-level travel planning for travelers looking for stress-free, well-designed vacations. I specialize in cruises, escorted tours, all-inclusive resorts, ski vacations, group travel, and fully customized international itineraries—handling the details so you can focus on enjoying the journey.
Why should I use a travel advisor instead of booking online?
Online booking engines are transactional. A professional travel advisor is relational and strategic. I help you avoid costly mistakes, compare options beyond what search engines show, secure trusted suppliers, and provide real support if something goes wrong before or during travel. You also gain access to industry knowledge, added value, and personalized guidance.
Also, many travel packages already include a commission in the price whether you use a travel advisor or not.

Do you charge a planning fee?
Yes. Many trips require a professional planning fee. This fee covers personalized research, itinerary design, supplier coordination, expert recommendations, and ongoing support. Planning fees also allow me to focus on finding the best-fit experience for you—not simply the option that pays the highest commission.
What does your planning fee include?
Depending on the trip, planning fees may include:
- Destination research and recommendations
- Custom itinerary design
- Hotel, cruise, tour, and resort selection
- Activity and excursion guidance
- Travel logistics coordination
- Ongoing support before and during travel
Fees vary based on trip complexity and are always discussed upfront during the client consultation.
How do I get started?
Start by submitting my Trip Inquiry Form. From there, we’ll schedule a consultation call to discuss your goals, preferences, timeline, and budget before moving into planning.
How far in advance should I plan my trip?
In general:
- Most trips: 6–12 months in advance
- Peak seasons, Europe, Alaska, cruises, and group travel: 9–12+ months
- Last-minute travel is possible but often limits options and value
Earlier planning usually means better availability, pricing, and experience.
Are there trips you don’t book?
If a trip falls outside my expertise or trusted supplier network, I’ll be honest and help guide you toward the best next step.
Additionally, I do not book:
- AirBNB or VRBO
- Standalone flights
- Destination Weddings
- Disney (you will be referred to my team member who handles all Disney requests)
What types of travelers do you work with?
I primarily work with travelers who value expert guidance, thoughtful planning, and a smooth experience—often couples of all ages, retirees, nearly retired travelers, and multi-generational families.
Do you plan group travel?
Yes. I design and manage group travel for families, organizations, churches, and hosted travel experiences, handling logistics and coordination from start to finish.
Can you book flights for me?
Yes. Flights can be booked as part of a larger travel plan or separately. Since airlines typically do not pay commission, a flight booking service fee may apply. I can also provide recommended itineraries if you prefer to book flights yourself.
Do you book AirBNB or VRBO rentals?
No. For quality control, traveler protection, and support reasons, I work with vetted hotels and resort partners that provide strong service standards and accountability.
Booking & Payments
Do you offer payment plans?
Many travel suppliers offer deposit-based booking and payment plans. I’ll walk you through what options are available for your specific trip.
Will my invoice be itemized?
Most travel packages are priced as a bundled experience by suppliers, rather than itemized line-by-line. I’m always happy to explain what is included in your total cost.
Can I make changes after receiving my proposal?
Yes. Proposals are collaborative. You’re welcome to request adjustments, upgrades, or alternate options before finalizing your booking.
Travel Documents & Insurance
Do I need a passport?
A valid passport is required for international travel and strongly recommended for cruises. Most destinations require passports to be valid at least six months beyond your return date.
It is the traveler’s responsibility to apply for their passport and ensure it meets your destination’s entry requirements.
Do you help with visas and entry requirements?
As a travel advisor we are unable to apply for your visa or complete destination-specifc entry requirements. However, I will provide guidance on visa and entry requirements and direct you to official resources when needed.
Do you recommend travel insurance?
Absolutely! Travel protection helps protect your investment against unexpected cancellations, delays, medical issues, and travel disruptions. I strongly encourage coverage for most trips.
Support Before & During Travel
What kind of support do you provide while I’m traveling?
I provide support before departure and while you’re away. If something unexpected happens, I work directly with suppliers to help resolve issues—so you’re not navigating problems alone.
When will I receive my final itinerary?
Final documents are typically delivered 10–21 days before departure and often include a digital itinerary you can access while traveling.
Clients will be invited to schedule a pre-departure call beginning 21 days prior to their schedule trip in order to review these documents and ask any last minute questions.
What happens if I need to cancel my trip?
Cancellation policies vary by supplier. I’ll help you understand deadlines, penalties, and how travel insurance may apply to your situation. In most cases, a cancellation penalty will be charged by Trey Tracy Travel if you completely cancel your trip after it has been booked.
